Film4, the feature film commissioning department of Channel 4, develops and co-finances a slate of smart and distinctive high profile feature films. Projects such as Slumdog Millionaire, Happy Go Lucky, In Bruges and This is England attest to their commitment to innovative and wide-ranging cinematic output. Literary excellence, television talent crossing over into the film arena and British independent talent are key to the Film4 remit.

The department is headed by Tessa Ross (who is also the controller of Channel 4 Drama).
