Our afternoon schedule is one of our great strengths currently and, as such, there is precious little scope for new commissions between 330 and 6pm. Countdown, Deal or No Deal, Richard & Judy, and Paul O’Grady together with Come Dine With Me and A Place in the Sun form a super-strong wall of popularity in the afternoons.

However we will be looking for new ideas for these slots from January 2009. If you have a format that is unique and muscular enough to force its way into this company then please let us see it.

We don’t want to be too prescriptive about the type of shows we are after so we are open to ideas for quizzes, factual entertainment formats and talent-led studio shows. The only criteria regarding these are that they must be able to be stripped and will punch through this increasingly competitive part of the schedule. It should have a feel good, entertaining sensibility that feels like a treat for what is, for many, the very best part of the week – you are as far away from that shattered Friday feeling and the Monday morning blues as it is possible to be. As far as Sundays go – we are perhaps thinking that the shows should be slightly more younger skewed than the Antiques Roadshow feel on BBC One and ITV, a family vibe perhaps but one where the men of the household could watch happily as well – its that feeling you get when you know you should be doing your homework but, sod it, you’ll just busk it on Monday morning.

Shows should be between 45 – 60 minutes long and should come in around £60k / hour.

We are Helen Warner, Hanna Warren (money) and Jude Eccles (Assistant).
