A cross-platform project must meet at least four of the following criteria:
  1. Be an integrated content experience; TV elements are significantly enhanced due to interactive elements and vice versa

  2. Be a genuine first for the channel (e.g. the first time a particular game format has been commissioned), ideally for UK media

  3. Grow the reach and/or impact of a core Channel 4 TV programme and/or genre onto a new platform

  4. Be targeted at clearly identified needs of a core Channel 4 audience

  5. If unrelated directly to a television programme or series, be audio-visual (in this context, audio-visual content means video, animation and/or game footage), and directly related to existing or potential talent and/or formats.

A cross-platform project must not be:
  1. Just a bill for more text, marketing, video and/or design

  2. A duplicate of any new media sites or services that already exist under the Channel 4 brand (including 4iP)

  3. A stand-alone new media project outside a core TV genre

  4. A stand-alone new media project without any audio-visual content

  5. Entirely off-network with no presence or pointers on Channel4.com or E4.com.
