Charlotte Black, Talent Development Manager
Assistant: Sophia Rehman
Assistant: Sophia Rehman
My role has evolved to concentrate on key rather than new talent, ie to look after talent at Producer/Director, Exec and Series Producer level in factual and factual entertainment genres. I can advise Commissioning Editors on talent suitable for their key 9 pm, 10 pm and 11 pm programmes.
I also develop a list of 'up and coming' directors as the Channel wants to actively see some of this new talent coming through.
We still want producers, directors, series producers and execs to send us up to date CV's and information about your availability. Please contact Sophia Rehman at srehman@channel4.co.uk

Channel 4's IDEASFACTORY blends online and on-the-ground activity to assist its users in getting in and getting on in the Creative Industries. This gets the best of both worlds – inspiration from real-life encounters; networking, showcasing and collaboration from on-line.
Regional 'hubs' in West Midlands, Scotland, Highlands & Islands and Northern Ireland provide a unique hands-on approach to discovering, nurturing and monitoring the progress of local talent. Workshops and masterclasses are developed for various disciplines - from documentary film production and product design to soundtrack creation and viral marketing - dependent on regional priorities and strengths, and attendees given exclusive opportunities to network with leading industry players and showcase themselves and their talents.
Current on-the-ground projects include: RAW CUTS, a nationwide initiative for young writers and filmmakers, in assocation with the NSPCC; a series of six IDEASFACTORY masterclasses - including Radio Production, Fashion Design and Gaming Development - for Belfast City Council; and PITCH FACTOR, a one-day event for new screenwriters to develop their ideas and pitch them to a judging panel - chaired by Oscar winner Julian Fellowes - at Cheltenham's Screenwriters Festival in June.
