The Commissioning Management team manages various aspects of the commissioning process and the Channel's relationship with independent producers. The main responsibilities are:
- Ensuring that Channel 4 commissioning is communicating its editorial priorities effectively
- Promoting a collaborative, transparent and equitable working relationship between Indies and Commissioning Editors
- Handling any complaints about the Commissioning Process
- Managing Commissioning departments' overheads and staffing
- Off-screen talent development
- Encouraging cultural diversity – both in terms of production teams and in on-screen presence/content
- Promoting a positive attitude to disability – again in terms of production teams and onscreen presence
