Chat Ed : Welcome Abi!
Abi Tucker : Hi everybody! Thanks for joining me here tonight.
Steve Gerrard : Is TSLOU a realistic interpretation of Australian life?
Abi Tucker : I think it resembles a lot of different lifestyles. I don't think it's just Australia as well. And the beauty is that I've had friends tell me that they can relate to all the characters.
bazz23 : Hi Can you ask Abi If She is Releasing her song Everything I heard it in the show and I absolutley love itcan she tell me where I can buy it
simon : ask abi does she prefere acting or singing?and tell her shes great at both!!!!!!!!!love simon
Abi Tucker : Aww that's brilliant, thank you both. The Song 'Everybody, Everything' is being released in Australia and it might be in the UK, but not sure when. I've been lucky to get the parts that I have in acting and I'm continually writing music. I'm glad that I have such a balance of both.
Purley Paul : When is Miranda going to ditch Ritchie and go out with Will? And why is Evan a writer and not a drummer?
Abi Tucker laughs
Abi Tucker : Cheers Purley Paul, we all know Evan is a great drummer!
vivtse : Hiya Abi. Do you have any plans to release a solo album?
Abi Tucker : Hello vivtse, yes it's an ongoing process, but yes I definitely have plans to release one.
Allie : Miranda are you happy with your character and if you had the choice what would you chan about her?
Abi Tucker : I really like Miranda as a character. She's optimistic and is getting on top of things at the moment. It's great that the scripts are so strong too. The only thing I'd change is some of her most embarrassing mishaps. If only we could in real life!
doleking47 : Do you find your character mirrors your own personality in any way???
Abi Tucker : I guess I can relate to her being in and out of work acting-wise, looking for parts and going to auditions. I actually like her for her sense of adventure, but it's hard to tell.
Kingston : do you prefer acting or singing because you have the voice of an angel
Abi Tucker : Aah! Thank you so much. I love them both.
FlamingRed : When Claudia was chatting she wasn't sure how the show was doing in Australia. Hows it doing now?
Abi Tucker : I'm still not sure actually! It's one of those things where you concentrate on what you're doing and not the outside areas, but hopefully, very well.
rooartuk : Whos the funniest person to work with on The Secret Life Of Us?
Abi Tucker : I'd say it was just a collaboration of funny people. Moments of hilarity were many!
Zed : Whats the best thing about being on the show?
Abi Tucker : The cast and crew were really brilliant. Plus with the scripts being so good, it was great. Plus I got to live in Melbourne for a while, so the whole thing was great.
ashley_elizabeth : Hey Abi! Which episode has been your favourite & why?
Abi Tucker : There's a sequence of different episodes that I really like and different storylines, but I don't want to give too much away as they are coming up.
ruthie_ireland : How many hours a week do/did you work on the show?
Abi Tucker : It varied. It was a full-time thing but we alternated between hours. On some days you might have one scene in the morning, or you might be on for the full 5 days a week, it just all depends on the storylines.
Poontz : Where are you from if not Melbourne?
Abi Tucker : I'm from Sydney. I did live in the UK for a few years then I came back to do the show in Melbourne.
Grace : I recently went through a very similar experience to your character Miranada (ie: b/f cheated on me with a man) and want to thank you for helping me indirectly to move on from that; you did an amazing job! Was it a difficult storyline to play? And were there times you wanted to do something a little less serious?
Abi Tucker : It was hard. In time I hope Richie and Miranda have a good friendship that transpires from their break-up. They seem to just be moving in different directions. P.S. I hope you're OK :)
helmat : Abi, to date, what has been the most challenging subject you have had to deal with on the show?
Abi Tucker : The whole ins and outs of the work factor, I think, for Miranda and the situation with Richie.
richard and kris : Do you feel that portraying Melbourne as such a sunny and happy city may mislead the plethora of Brits thinking of re-locating to Australia???
doctorRUMBA : Does it EVER rain while shooting?
Abi Tucker laughs
Abi Tucker : Errr.....um.....errr... Well I guess we're just lucky to pick the sunny days!
jay : any plans for a second series?
Abi Tucker : Everything is in the pipeline. Things seem to become unveiled as we go.
Reece : i loved u in the film angst - u were the best character - u shouldve been in it longer! anymore films coming up?
Abi Tucker : Cheers Reece, I loved doing 'Angst'. I think if another opportunity arose I would read the script and possibly become very excited, but I don't know.
brio : What's your next project? music or acting?
Abi Tucker : I'm in the studio at the moment, but when I'm shooting I'd still be writing at the same time. So it's all in there together really. But I love acting!
Tess : do you write your own music?
blueboy : Hi Abi, do you have any more of your songs in future episodes (Fantastic voice, and looks to match !)
Abi Tucker : Aw, cheers again. Yes I do write a lot of music, I co-write as well and do guest vocals, I sound like I'm writing a CV!
Tony : Abi,With all this talk of work, how do you like to relax when not at work?
Abi Tucker : I have my fair share of fun. It comes with the territory.
bagitupuk : did you purposely fall into this career or was it luck?
Abi Tucker : I've really wanted to do music and acting since I was a little kid. It's a matter of following your direction and I suggest that to anyone that wants to get into it, because it's a treat!
hayley russell : if you could choose one item to take to a desert island, what would you take?
Abi Tucker : Oooh.... It's very early here let me have a think about that one because I'd want to make the right choice. Maybe my skills for outdoor living. Does that make sense?
Abi Tucker laughs
Abi Tucker : Or a self-help book by Bush Tucker Man.
FlamingRed : The influence of different directors on the show has been pretty clear, particularly in one of the early episodes where all the women seemed to have to be naked. Did you ever feel that it was gratuitous?
Abi Tucker : No, I think the joys of working with different directors every week and sometimes getting the same directors back gave a lot of freshness to the scripts. All the directors all had a clear picture of where they wanted to go.
TurnBlue : What scares you?
Abi Tucker : I guess a lot of things, but they usually come about when I don't think about them. I try not to think about them until I'm faced with it and then I try and leap a little bit forward. The firsts nights of live performances would be up there though and sometimes the dark.
bagitupuk : who was/is the most influential person in your life?
Abi Tucker : I'm lucky to have a varying degree of influences in acting and music and just generally. Good friends, mostly.
ruthie_ireland : Did you study drama in university?
Abi Tucker : No, but Heartbreak High, when I was there, had a drama coach who came on and helped us all. His name was Nico Lathouris, speaking of which he is a major influence.
Thomas : Do you have a motto that you live by?
Abi Tucker : Just go where it goes and be as you can!
Beth UK : abi - whats the one thing you cant live without?
Abi Tucker : The joy of having a good laugh when it's appropriate.
rooartuk : What do you think of your fan sites on the web??
Abi Tucker : Ooh I haven't seen them! So I don't know. I best go and check them out.
stevie_r : what is in your CD player at the moment?
Abi Tucker : Mogwai, Madonna's Greatest Hits and 10cc - The Things We Do For Love.
stevie_r : good choices!! i love mogwai
Abi Tucker : stevie_r they're brilliant live as well, they played here a couple of years back. I do see a lot of live bands in Australia. And the Secret Life of Us soundtrack is good!
thegoggles_theydonot : recomend any aussie bands?
Abi Tucker : Yes... Iota, Alex Lloyd, Prop, Augie March, On Ink, The Wicked Beat Sound System, Pnau...the list goes on!
saffron : Cheers for been such an influnce, you were my childhood hero. Where do you see yourself in the future
thegoggles_theydonot : whoa! thanks, i'll try to check some of those out
Abi Tucker : Oh gosh that's a huge call! Hopefully with clear peace of mind. At the moment I'll just take it day by day. And thank you.
Chat Ed : That's it! Thanks for that Abi - great fun. And don't forget, the CD the accompany is in the shops now - with Abi singing on it.
