Chat Ed : Welcome to this evening's SCRAPHEAP CHALLENGE chat with LISA ROGERS! And remember there is a Scrapheap Challenge website and forum for you to visit too.
Lisa Rogers : Yes, hello, Lisa here what do you want to ask me?
Gunter : Hi Lisa
S4 : Hi Lisa :-)
tom riddlestone : hi
Hank Handsome : what's robert llewellyn like to work with ?
CHRIS : Whats it like to be working with Robert?
Lisa Rogers : Robert is fantastic to work with but he's paying me a lot of money to say that ; ) No, really, we get on very well - he's great.
Banana : What was it like taking over from Kathy?
Rob : What ahappened to Kathy from thr last series?
Lisa Rogers : Cathy decided she'd had enough of getting up at 6am and not getting in until midnight so she decided to go off and do other things. It was very hard taking over from her, it's hard trying to fill someone else's boots. So, I took an active decision to just to do my own thing.
Kacey : How did Lisa get the part for Junk wars as its not her normal show genre
Lisa Rogers : They screen tested loads and loads of people and got so desperate that they ended up with me.
Lisa Rogers grins
RMG : How does it feel being in the midlle of all them greasy men?
Lisa Rogers : Um... it was great fun and they're not all greasy and there's a lot of women in the crew too.
Stephen : How tall are you? Are the other people all giants or something?
Lisa Rogers : No I'm really short, I'm 5 ft 1 but that is 2 inches taller than Kylie Minogue.
Notata Dignum : Lisa, which has been your favourite challenge so far, and why??
Lisa Rogers : It hasn't been on yet so I can't spoil it for you. Next week's is my favourite. But of the ones that have been on so far the best one was Mud Monsters - the very first one, because we all just got absolutely covered in mud. It was great fun.
Neilyman : Lisa, Have you had any `scarry` moments on Scrapheap?
Lisa Rogers : Yes, my first day was really scary it was like my first day at school I thought they were all going to steal my dinner money. In terms of danger scary the hammerlocks were pretty bonkers though. The very last challenge of challenges is scary too.
believe : How much editing has to be done for swearing....you cant tell me that nobody swears during the making of there tasks
Lisa Rogers : Oh they swear all the time, and that's just Robert and me! Just from the build day there is 80 hours of footage, so there is a lot of filming. And 79 hours of that is usually swearing.
Squeeky-Sean : Are the contestants ever alloud extra time on construction day, they seem to get allot done in the last hour ?
Lisa Rogers : No they're not allowed extra time but because we go in and talk to them and make them do bits to camera we do give them that time back, so they do actually get 10 hours building.
ed : Do you get to actually drive the machines made in the challenges? and which was you favourite?
Lisa Rogers : Usually not I have to say. There are really hardcore safety rules around Scrapheap. My favourite one that I went on though was the mud monster because it was just so messy.
anthony : wot happens to the machines once thier used on the show?
Harry : What happens to the machine after the show. Do they get dismantled ?
Lisa Rogers : They don't. There's a best of Scrapheap programme coming out and a lot of the machines were down at the scrapheap when we went down there last week to do some filming.
Hank Handsome : do you, robert and the teams all go off for a beer after the show ??
Lisa Rogers : We don't tend to do that on build day because we're all so tired, but after the test day we do all have a beer together yeah.
Charlie : Lisa should take part on Competetors vs presenter scrapheap where the presenters have to each build a machine
Lisa Rogers laughs
Lisa Rogers : No chance! The reason Robert and I present it is because we can't build machines!
Lark : Have u learnt anything useful since u started presenting this show?
Lisa Rogers : Yeah, don't try and talk to Robert until he's had some coffee first thing in the morning.
Cru54d3r : besides talking to the teams and inspecting their work what else do u do for the 8-10hrs? :)
Lisa Rogers : We do links and talk about the teams between ourselves and drink lots of tea, badger the runners, chat to the wardrobe and eye up the Art Director because he's very good-looking.
Richman : Does someone write your little puns for you or do you think of them yourself?
Lisa Rogers : Both really.
believe : Does Robert get to pick his own waistcoats or does somebody pick them for him?
Lisa Rogers : Yes we are very definitely told what to wear.
MarkN : Does Robert consider himself priveleged to be working with the wonderful Lisa Rogers ?
Lisa Rogers : Yes he does, I remind him of it every morning and then he actually pays me for the privilege. And then I woke up!
Kov The Bodger : is there anything in the show, you would like to change, if so, what and why ?
Neil G : robert eyes up the Art Director????
Lisa Rogers : The waiting around, but actually probably not because it's during the waiting around that we have a real laugh with the production team, so probably not. Just more free beer at the wrap party I guess.
Lisa Rogers laughs at Neil G.
Lisa Rogers : No, it's actually just the wardrobe lady and myself that eye him up. Robert just looks, but not in that way.
styve : hi lisa what would you say was your finest moment on the show?
Lisa Rogers : Mud Monsters when I ended up on all fours in a massive mud bog after being chucked in.
Steve17 : Which bit of the show do u like the most?
Lisa Rogers : Test days, because it gets really exciting.
JC02 : Have U Ever Been Chatted Up Seriously By One Of The Contestants?
Lisa Rogers : One of them did ask me for my phone number, which I didn't give him. He was quite good-looking, but a bit arrogant.
RMG : what challange would you set the teams
broin : Who comes up with the ideas for the challenges? And are there any you've thought of?
Lisa Rogers : Oh that's really hard, RMG. The very good production team and the researchers and Producers come up with the challenges. They were all thought of before I was even employed on the show.
Andrew : The teams seem to argue a lot, has there ever been a real bust up?
Bulldog : Have you ever had any contestants walk off set in a huff?
Lisa Rogers : Yes! There have been real bust-ups. The challenge that was on tonight was one. I don't think that was fully reflected in the episode. They fell out big time.
JamesH : Which begs the question: When will the 'out-take' show be aired?
Neilyman : Has there been any good `out takes` you can tell about?
Lisa Rogers laughs
Lisa Rogers : I don't know if we could get permission to show those, it would definitely have to be after the 9pm watershed. There has been lots of people setting fire to things and stuff like that Neilyman.
ozbie : are there any out takes with you in them?
Lisa Rogers : I had really good fun racing the hovercraft on test day and soaking loads of the team which I didn't mean to do, but that was quite fun.
online_bowline : Were you a fan of Scrapheap before you started presenting?
Ian R : Did you watch the programme before you got the job?
Lisa Rogers : No, I'd seen it a couple of times, but I wasn't a big fan, but it's definitely the favourite presenting job I've ever had.
anthemmaster : is scrapheap more fun than being stuck in a broom cupboard like on under the moon
Lisa Rogers : I was only in the broom cupboard for one episode of Under the Moon, but yes, it is a real laugh.
andy p : Are we having a challenge against the US again this year?
Lisa Rogers : Do you know, I think they are, but I'm not sure on that one, I'll have to ask the Producers.
Jon84 : Will you be presenting the next series?
JockMcScotsman : Do you think you will stay with Scrapheap for future series?
Ian R : Cheers Lisa - your doing a grand job!
MarkN : Will you marry me ????
Lisa Rogers : I hope so! Have to wait and see. If there is a next series of course.
Lisa Rogers laughs at MarkN, very, very kind offer but....Oh why not! Go on then!
Andrew : Lucky MarkN!
electronicmadman : can you weld?
Ian R : Will the whole series ever be released on DVD?
Lisa Rogers : Yes I can weld, my Dad taught me - I was brought up on a farm.
Gunter : Cool
Lisa Rogers : I can always suggest the DVD to the Producers if you would like it to be released.
MattB : you were a tomboy!
RMG : yes please
Lisa Rogers : OK, I shall put it to the powers that be about the DVD.
MattD : DVD would be great...Bye Lisa
ste otter : your a good laugh lisa cheers
Hank Handsome : i love you !
broin : Thanks. =)
dave123456789 : bye sexy lisa!
Gunter : Thanks Lisa
dechamps : bye
asbestospiping : toodle pip
Achimedes Blancmonge : xxxxx
Lisa Rogers : I hope you enjoy the last 3 in the series. It was great talking to you all. Take care, bye bye.
