No Angels - Sunetra Sarker (Anji) and Louise Delamere (Lia)

It's time for your check-up! The girls from No Angels dropped by for a webchat...

Chat Ed : Good evening everyone and welcome to our live webchat with the girls from No Angels – Sunetra Sarker (Anji) and Louise Delamere (Lia)!

Louise Delamere : Hi, it's Louise here who plays Lia...

Sunetra Sarker : And this is Sunetra here too with Louise.

Cheeky Chappy : Hi girls, do you find it easier to pull now you've starred in the show?

Sunetra Sarker laughs

Louise Delamere : No, people are even more frightened of me than they were beforehand.

Sunetra Sarker : I think I'm too cheeky for people to even consider approaching - I just get funny looks.

red_head_blues : When you were given the roles for the characters were they already fully formed or were you given a lot of room to 'mould' them for yourselves?

Sunetra Sarker : I think we were allowed to create our characters from a very good script, which helped us a lot. The bonus was we did create them from scratch - we didn't have to follow someone else's example of the role. It was teamwork for me from my point of view.

Louise Delamere : I think Lia wasn't very defined at the beginning - they weren't sure how they wanted her played. I got to put my own sort of stamp on the character.

Sunetra Sarker : Yeah I agree with you on that Lou.

mrs mcflurry : fantastic show, working in the NHS myself i think you have the sense of humour spot on! is a third series planned?

Louise Delamere : Yep, we start filming it in August and thanks very much.

Sunetra Sarker : Yeah thanks to you guys. And if you do work in the NHS please feel free to give us any funny stories that we could use in the third series, we can always do with them. You could do that at www.world-productions.com

Smiley : Are you as close friends in real life as in the series? The series is great!!!

Sunetra Sarker : Aww yeah., it's inevitable. You can't get that kind of friendship chemistry across unless you do actually genuinely feel that way in real life. We've become a little family.

Louise Delamere : It's like having a ready-made bunch of pals, very nice.

george : which of you is most like your 'No Angels' character?

Sunetra Sarker : Haha...I don't think any of us would admit to that!

Louise Delamere : I really don't think any of us are like our characters really.

Sunetra Sarker : I would say that because the four of us girls play very heightened characters that we're not very similar to any of them. None of us would actually get away with being like that.

Makenshi : Is this the most fun T.V show you've done?

Sunetra Sarker laughs
Sunetra Sarker : Yes, definitely. There are lots of private jokes and laughter throughout the filming process.

Louise Delamere : And the scripts are so good - they really make us laugh as well.

PJ : So would ever consider becoming a real nurse?
Gracie : Are either of you squeamish, and if so has this affected your performance? Also well done on the show. My mum is a nurse in Leeds and she and all her mates think it is very true to life

Louise Delamere : I'd be rubbish! They work so hard, I don't think I could do it.

Sunetra Sarker : All my stars say I'd be a good nurse actually, but I think it's a bit late for me to find out. I just like pretending to be a nurse.

Louise Delamere : Brilliant, Gracie!

Sunetra Sarker : Aww great - thanks to your mum, Gracie. We really appreciate that from nurses.

Louise Delamere : I'm not squeamish at all.

Sunetra Sarker : When I did a few scenes involving vomit I was going through a bit of morning sickness myself and we had to do a scene with Louise's head down a toilet bowl and that kinda made me gag - having to watch people be sick or pretend to be sick hmm no.

Rachel : Has anyone seen a ghost in the old hospital yet?

Louise Delamere : Yeah they have! My make-up lady is convinced she did.

kailey : what kind of ghost?

Louise Delamere : She came back one lunchtime and said she swore she had seen a ghost.

Sunetra Sarker : There are eerie ceilings in certain rooms.

LeeJ : was it scary?

Sunetra Sarker : The rooms that we work in mainly are ghost-free though.

Louise Delamere : Yeah there are 3000 people in an unmarked grave next to the hospital too.

Dave_chr10 : OoOoO that would freak me out........ eeewww!!!

Sunetra Sarker : Louise is desperate to discover the ghost, but me, I'm totally not interested.

Kylius : Have you ever been noticed by the public while you have been out?

Louise Delamere : You can't go anywhere with Sunetra without someone recognising her!

Sunetra Sarker : Bless you Kylius for asking, but there aren't many places we can go now, especially if the four of us are together, that we don't get noticed.

Louise Delamere : Their eyes glance down the four of us and always end on Sunetra!

Sunetra Sarker : Yeah if they ever wanted to go anywhere in disguise I don't think they'd invite me along!

Chris Gilboy : So you’re jealous?

Louise Delamere laughs!

thatgirl : She's not jealous shes lovely!

Louise Delamere : No! She can't go anywhere!

Sunetra Sarker : Yeah it can be a hindrance!

Louise Delamere : Imagine trying to get drunk when everyone knows who you are?!

Princess : Hi Sunetra, being Asian myself, i would like to know, how do your parents feel about you doing raunchy scenes?

Sunetra Sarker : I'm very lucky that my parents have seen me acting from a very young age. They have seen, like a lot of Asian actresses, that the roles have got better for us over the years and instead of seeing the raunchy scenes as a negative thing they see that in order to play the larger character roles that we have to say yes to things they may not have said yes to. What I have found lately is that it's the older generation who are more liberal about things like that and it's the younger crowd who are more wary of it. It's all part of my job, Anji wouldn't be Anji without those scenes.

neil : Where would you like to come in the FHM top 100 sexiest?

Louise Delamere : Anywhere!

IzzyGunZ : cheeky!
Smiffy : number 1 surely
hams : no1 and 2

Sunetra Sarker : As a footnote?!
Sunetra Sarker laughs!

Newcastle Chris : you get my vote!!
King Louie : lol

Sunetra Sarker : I'm seven months pregnant so I'd be gob-smacked!

red_head_blues : How long does make-up take cos you all always look great, and louise is your hair naturally curly?
Hayles : Big is beautiful!

Louise Delamere : My hair is naturally curly and I have a very short make-up call.

Sunetra Sarker : Jo and myself have a make-up artist for ourselves so we have longer make-up calls as Louise has to share one. We all tend to have quite light make-up to make it look like it's a real hospital situation, so hopefully we're not coming across as glossy actresses.

Dave_chr10 : 7 months preggers..... congrats and good luck! My niece is about to turn 1 and she’s a gem :-)
Roofus_toof : wooohoooo congrats the baby:)

Sunetra Sarker : Aaah, thanks guys!

thumb_nails : congrat!

Sunetra Sarker : Send me all your good energy for eight weeks’ time when I'll be in the hospital myself.

lainy : am so chuffed 4u
Dirk Diggler : Louise. What other acting roles did you do before Angels?

Louise Delamere : Oh God, loads of stuff like Poirot, a big series with Robson Green and loads of comedy. I've been around for quite a long time.

lablover : sunetra, brookside or no angels and why?

Sunetra Sarker : No Angels for the acting side of it and Brookside out of loyalty for it being a really good platform for me to start from. It gave me a chance to really practice my acting skills and No Angels then gave me the opportunity to come up with the goods. And I love both shows for giving me the chance to play two very different characters.

george : what’s the biggest fall out have you girls had?

Sunetra Sarker : Ooh... between each other we've been really lucky.

Louise Delamere : Yeah we have.

Sunetra Sarker : We tend to gang up on other people!

Louise Delamere laughs, yeah we're quite a force to be reckoned with.

LeahsBoyfriend : Bullys lol

Sunetra Sarker : Yeah, not like Desperate Housewives!

Smiffy : tag team champs lol

Sunetra Sarker : We don't even argue with the boys on set, if there are any fall outs it's only with our boyfriends.

Hayles : Any diva potential?

Sunetra Sarker : LOL

Louise Delamere laughs

Sunetra Sarker : Oh how I laugh! We are so low on the pecking order of even getting anywhere near diva standards! We queue up with the rest of the crew - there's no room for stars on our shows. Apart from maybe Francis.

nick : yeah anyway you will need a big bum to be a diva
ntasha : is there anything you regret doing on no angels?

Louise Delamere : And none of us have got big bums so we'll be fine! Nope nothing for me, ntasha.

Sunetra Sarker : I regret creating this really funny run for Anji because people keep expecting me to do it again and I can't remember for the life of me how to do it! I think it's just my own run actually.

martsta : What sort of roles would do you girls like to do next??

Sunetra Sarker : Ooh…

Louise Delamere : I'd like to do a period drama.

Sunetra Sarker : I would like to play a hard-nosed business solicitor type. Some sort of good cop in a bad cop show. Something which gives me a chance to try something that doesn't involve pigtails.

Louise Delamere : Or I'd like to be in Little Britain.

Roofus_toof : ever considered going in for celebrity big brother?

Sunetra Sarker : I'm a huge Big Brother fan and I think it would spoil it for me to go into that house as a celeb. I think in my early days at Brookside would have been the only good time for me to have done it.

Louise Delamere : I'm too shy; I'd hate it.

Alex M : Louise, your character is very emotional - and cries alot - what do you think of to get the tears going? (If anything)

Louise Delamere : My life!
Louise Delamere laughs

Sunetra Sarker : Don't say that!

Louise Delamere : She doesn't cry that much.

Alex M : You're making me cry!!

Louise Delamere : I don't really think of anything, I just let the situation and the words guide me.

Mikey_McE : what's your best tip for pulling a nurse?

Sunetra Sarker : Heheh

Louise Delamere : Go to a hospital ;)

Sunetra Sarker : Try and have a whole conversation without mentioning she's a nurse and steer clear of any cliches.

Louise Delamere : Steer clear of innuendos about thermometers and uniforms and bedside manner.

Chat Ed : Ok folks, our half hour with the girls is now up…

Louise Delamere : Thank you so much for watching the show and for taking the time to ask us questions about our characters and keep watching please!

Sunetra Sarker : It's lovely to think that everyone here wanted to speak to us and thanks for your time.

mememe : bye girls
chris154 : bye girls
thatgirl : Good luck
Mikey_McE : cheers girls!
LeahsBoyfriend : tbye
Skinner : Good luck see you in series 3!
Kez : Bye girls keep up the good work
