Chat Ed : Welcome to this evening's FAKING IT chat with GEORGE LUBEGA!
shanelle : ello george
ebony : finally hi george
LadyMaze : booooooo!
styla : hey george
George : Hi ebony, hi shanelle! Good to hear from you.
Kate W : that was great! (and the best looking 'MC' I've seen..!)
ebony : his looks won the ladies
babs : George, are you free and single?
shola : Please can u ask him if he is single?
George laughs
George : How funny! Well, thanks I'm flattered. I'm definitely single at the moment and have been for a while.
raf : congrats georege,u put a lot of determination into your task.how did it feel to accomplish it?
George : I was absolutely terrified for most of the time, so to get 2 out of 3 was absolutely brilliant. I didn't expect to manage it, but I did my best and that was what was important to me.
Cara : George you are so handsome! Are you still in contact with MC Creed?
bevwinn : do you still see creed and crew?
George : Yes, Creed and I are good friends and we watched it together tonight. Creed is on great form and just spat some lyrics to my lawyer friends, who loved it.
dalarran : Please tell me yer still gonna wear those clothes ? =)
George chuckles
George : I'm wearing them tonight!
Give George a Hug! : Do u feel a lot more cooler and relaxed now?
George : Um.. I certainly have “attitude” now, whether that means more relaxed I don't know.
Perks : Congratualations I was scared that wouldn't pass, What made you want to do the programme? Did u feel that you were lacking the 'black' presence in your life?
George : Interesting question. That's exactly what made me want to do it. I was brought up in a white environment and one day I needed to sort out the black side of me as well. The programme started to do this and I still need to go to Uganda to kind of carry on the process.
BoCheckit : hi george! it must have been terrifying..have you perfected that jamaican accent yet?
George laughs
George : I think the answer is no, I'm still working on it. I think it could take another 30 years!
Riddim : That little Jamaican kid at the beach was wicked - did someone put him up to that?
George : Absolutely not. He just turned up and started talking to me. I wished they had shown more because he was brilliant. I talked to him for about 30 minutes. Very cool.
S x : What did your lawyer friends think when they watched the programme?
Kate W : How has doing the programme affected your job as a lawyer?
George : I watched it with about 100 lawyers (as well as Creed and his mates) and they all loved it. I'm not sure the Court of Appeal would approve, but then I'm not sure I'll be a lawyer my entire life!
DJ Corey JR : What was it like to be on stage in front of all those Garage fans? Muhahahahahahhaahhaha Creed is the man :-)
George : Totally terrifying. I'd been in front of many courts in my life but never done anything quite so hard.
Buramc : Since performing within the Garage scene how do you see the music now and do you like it?
George : Good question, Buramc. I love black music, but I think I'm more Ja Rule than So Solid.
DJ LORDSTAR : Hey george! What was the last cd you bought?
George : Ohh! The Prodigy.
Dani : did being close to the crowd, unlike at cream, help you chill?
George : Not really. The crowd was smaller in my final test and that helped, but the hypnotism really worked for me, so I think I was less terrified by that time.
Gina : Do you think the Hypnotherapy helped at all?
George : Absolutely, yes. Whether it gave me something to focus on, or was actually directly effective, I don't know. But it certainly took away the terror.
Jaquie : Have you been to any more clubs since making the programme ?
Matt786 : Do you intend to Mc again George?
George : I've been to the Ministry a couple of times and I followed Da Syndicate, but I think my MC days are over. I could never be as cool as Creed.
Dasozkee : Was the pirate station a compromising position for you?
George : Oh, erm, I did refuse to perform on air, because pirate stations are unlawful. I felt uncomfortable with that as a solicitor. So I guess it was difficult, yes.
Tom-Julius Nyeko : George, you said that you would like to go to Uganda to trace your roots, when do u intend to do this?
Luscious Gal : Have you made any contact with your family in Uganda or even your father, seeing Creed and his family - what you said about that touched me, and I hope you go forward with your journey! Good luck.
George : That's lovely, thanks. I want to go to Uganda at the beginning of next year. I don't know enough about Africa and I'd like to visit Uganda as part of a tour and I'm still planning...
pioneer : What life style to u prefer, the life of an mc or of a lawyer?
George : I'd like to take the best of both. Law is long hours and can be boring, but pays well. Being an MC may not be me, so maybe a combination of both would work out best for me.
RachZ : Did you find you were stereotyped because of the clothes and attitiude?
George : I was astonished by how people's attitudes to me changed after I had shaved my head and grown a goatee and started wearing street clothes. I was the same person, but I found that white people treated me with much more suspicion and black people spoke to me much more readily. I found the whole transition quite surprising.
Sunshine29 : What you said about the way white people looked at you with your changed image was interesting...how far did this go and how resentful did you become!
George : I'm never resentful of anything, just very surprised that people would stereotype me to that extent. I'm sympathetic to guys who get that pressure as a result of the same prejudices.
peter p : of all your new clothes, what item do you cherish most?
Adel : U done know George looked sweet
George : It's got to be the hat!
Susib : Well said the hat looked wicked!
michelle : I loved the hat the best....
George : You don't see it in the programme but I wore it constantly once they'd given it to me, maybe as a way of hiding my true identity.
david : were the rymes hard to pick up
George : Terrible for someone with no rhythm!
Andrew G : Did you expect to win the final contest, or were you surprised by the crowd's decision?
mcrespect : and did you win a prize
George : I only ever did my best. I was happy because I did that and the fact that the crowd liked it was the icing on the cake for me, but if I had failed I wouldn't have cared as long as I had given it my best shot. I got a bottle of champagne as a prize.
Johnny : i love your tweety pie jacket
WookiEE : where did u get the clothes?
George : To be honest I really can't remember, they took me to so many different places.
Yeti : How did you feel when your colleague walked in when you were practising?
Jaquie : Do you think your friend turning up in the middle of the programme hindered you in any way ?
George laughs
George : I felt very self-conscious because like all lawyers she's bound to judge me, but after about 5 minutes I saw the funny side.
charlotte2427 : have you seen the PATG cartel since, they are wicked
George : They are great guys, but I haven't seen them for a while.
Darkenning : Do you use your new found skills in court?
George : I'm certainly more confident. But I've never rapped to the judge.
cookie : whats the biggest thing you've gained from this experience?
George : I've worked out that I can do so much more than I thought I could do and I just need to go off and do it now.
Pacey : Do you feel like you were a real MC when you were in the competition
George : I could never be as cool as Creed or the guys from Pay As You Go, but I enjoyed the competition much more than any of my other public performances.
Chat Ed : That's it! Thanks for coming and talking to us GEORGE!
DJ MARL-E : respect and good luck
Marcy : just wanted to say 'well done'
tammy : I LOVE YOU GEORGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dominic : Bye!
Law Diva1 : U GOT DA RIDDEM
michelle : George, Have fun, Take Care XX
GorgeousSam : well done Georg and good luck for the future :0)
Russ T : cheers george!
terri : you were top
George : Thank you. I really enjoyed watching it and although I will never be an MC I took a huge amount away from it.
