Chat Ed : Hello and welcome to our live webchat with Alex Parkin from Brat Camp!

Alex Parkin : Hey, you alright? It's Alex!

larissa : hi alex
Renee : hi alex!
laura 1234 : hiya alex
Lucy Prior Daniell : Alex i just want to say you rock
AngelAmy : What were your friends like towards you when you came back from Brat Camp?

Alex Parkin : Cheers for saying I rock :) I found that a lot more people respected me when I got back. I also found that my friends respected me and were proud of me as well.

Bonny : How do you feel when you watch it all on TV?

Alex Parkin : I think it's quite emotional when you watch it all on TV.

Jonny_hughes- oldham : Have you kept in contact with any of the British kids since leaving the show

Alex Parkin : Yes, I've kept in contact with Xanthe and I've spoken to Gemma, Joe and Jenny.

Stephers : Who was your best mate when you was in there?!

Alex Parkin : My best mate would probably be Xanthe because we tended to tell each other everything, you know if we had a problem with something we'd tell each other. We were a pair of bitches together basically!

Someone : Did you enjoy horse riding at the ranch?

Alex Parkin laughs
Alex Parkin : I loved it. I've always wanted to be a horse-rider and I've always loved horses. It was fantastic. The trouble is trying to find somewhere where I can carry on doing it. I don't want to do English riding because it's too poncy for me.

Erin : Did you fancy any of the guys there?

Alex Parkin : Erm... no, I'm sorry I didn't. I think Joe was quite charming in his own way but I didn't fancy him.

Daniel : how did you survive in those circles? how did you go to the toilet in the circle?
Scott : what was it like being sent to the stone circle?

Alex Parkin : We had porterloos, which we were allowed to get out and go to but we couldn't go until an hour after we'd eaten and we were supervised. It was hard and no, I don't think I coped really well at all to be honest.

pinkclouds : do u still got on with ur family after the experience?

Alex Parkin : Yes I do, I get on with my family a lot better and in fact my Uncle just phoned me and told me how proud he was of me and I think that's actually the first time he's ever said that. So yeah, that was nice.

saz : hows the beauty therapy course going? are you enjoying it?
helz : hows it going with the beauty therapy alex?

Alex Parkin : Ah. I have been working part-time at a hairdressers and they've offered to take me on full-time and I start on Tuesday. So, beauty therapy has gone!

ChrisB : Was there any event that happened to you there that made you realise you had to change? Well done by the way you did great.

Alex Parkin : Erm... an event - let me think... I reckon when I got out of the circle and I realised I was going to be there for three months I thought I might as well give it a shot and I did and I got something out of it.

Holly - Joe : Did you stay in contact with the lady you got on well with? Connie?

Alex Parkin : Yeah I speak to her on a weekly basis. I'm going out to see her in June for a couple of weeks.

the slickman : do the public recognise you?
Dalila : Do you have to give out autographs to people?

Alex Parkin : Hehe! Actually people have recognised me but they won't come up to me and say anything. When I'm in a bar or a club they're much more open about it and they're like 'You're Alex from Brat Camp!' There was a girl that came up to me today actually, in the street, and she said to me 'I just want to say I think you're really mouthy and you're great!' Heh, so that was quite funny.

becca : are you glad to be at home?

Alex Parkin : Yes I am, definitely. There have been times when I wish I was back there. You're protected there from everything there really and I sort of miss that but that isn't reality. I'm moving on now and going places and I'm going to be a hairdresser, it's my first step soon so...

sav! : hoe does it feel to watch it all over on the telly?

Alex Parkin : It feels wicked, I love it. It's quite shameful sometimes and quite embarrassing. I love it though. Is that sav from Leicester?

sav! : savs from Nuneaton!!!

Alex Parkin : Ah right, ok.

sav! : so near!!!
xxstephxx : Hiya alex, i think you made the best progress out of all the kids n i think ur fab! whats it like to be back home now? u pleased with your achievement?

Alex Parkin : It's great to be back home and I'm definitely pleased with my achievement but I really don't think I would have changed my life around this much if it wasn't for the ranch.

Mark-20 : alex what do you think to the formation of pro-disciplinary establishments like Turnabout Ranch?
StuRog : Hi Alex, do you think it could work in this country?

Alex Parkin : I don't think it could work here. For something like that you need a secure environment. In Utah you are in the middle of the desert - you can't run away to anywhere when you're there. You need to be away from everything you know. You need to be away from everything you care about in England. But yeah, that sort of discipline does really work, if you're a spoilt little brat ;)

Someone : Hi Alex - well done btw, you were great. :) The camp staff come across as quite strict and ungiving; were they at all sympathetic?

Alex Parkin : Ohh yeah, in every single member of staff their heart was always in the right place. If not they wouldn't be there in the first place. They HAVE to care - it's their job.

helz : how do you feel about being called a 'brat' all the time? do you get fed up of people calling you that?

Alex Parkin : Yes I do, I'm sick of it! It drives me mad! My friends are all like... 'Shut up brat!' It does my head in. It's getting really old now.

Clark : Would you consider a career in television?
Caz : do you think you'll be on tv more?

Alex Parkin : Erm, no. I suppose modelling is sort of a career in TV, well photography, but no I'm not so keen on TV. The directors you know...they're pushy - they always have to get what they want. Don't get me wrong though you do meet the odd nice one, but you don't get much of a say most of the time.

Scott : how does your mum treat you now?

Alex Parkin : She has a lot more trust in me. There are times when she does worry and still asks loads of questions, but I suppose that's normal. She checks up on me less now though.

rebecca : considering jemma was quite posh would u say she found it more hard?????

Alex Parkin : No I don't think so. I think we all found it hard to be honest. Gemma had a hard time getting on with people, but she brought that on herself you know. Gemma's an alright girl but to be fair she did piss a lot of people off. I've just watched tonight's episode and I did feel for her a bit. But Gemma's just Gemma!

SophieOts : was it hard giving up smoking for the programme?

Alex Parkin : Hard? Yes! Incredibly hard! One of the hardest things I had to do. I always relied on my cigarettes for everything, if I was happy, sad, frustrated - for every single emotion I relied on them. I can't explain how much a person can be addicted to cigarettes.

Leicester_Sound : alex will you cut my hair..?

Alex Parkin laughs

will you have my bab : no cut mine lol

Alex Parkin : When I can cut hair - yes! I'm not sure how to cut hair yet.

nathan_barley : im going bald. any tips?

Alex Parkin giggles
Alex Parkin : I haven't got a clue, buy a wig!

Lynsey : hi alex, i really respected you for sticking up for xanthe , you could have easily stuck with the rest of the group out of peer pressure, well done u were wicked and obviously genuine
xxstephxx : i think your fab!

Alex Parkin : Thank you all for being so supportive.

claire19 : well done youre fab!
vee : Your a LEGEND!
Aimee : thanx for coming in babe! Xx
Pete : Your great Alex!
iannor : well done mate....ace
danielle : well done
5879 : you rock!!!!
Dalila : WE LOVE U!

Alex Parkin : Hopefully this time next year you'll see me on the front page of Vogue, fingers crossed! Goodbye everyone... Alex xx
