Paul Chequer : Hi everyone, I'm here, hit me with it! Let's get this beast over with!

Maz : Paul do u think as if is really based on on real life and what would u change to make it better

Paul Chequer : Life isn't that fast but I suppose being a teenager it can seem quite hectic. Hopefully it will get as good as it can get. In the second series that we start shooting next week we will be making it as good as we possibly can.

lynseyscotland : Hiyaa Paul, love the show..what else have you been in before ?

Paul Chequer : A film called Tea with Mussolini, in which I spent half the film dressed as a woman. That was about 3 years ago when I came out of drama school. I also did an episode of Holby City and a sausage advert.
Paul Chequer laughs

Karen H : So Paul Im sure its not just me who wants to know but do you have a girlfriend cos u are so cute?

Paul Chequer chuckles
Paul Chequer : Yes I do and she thinks so too! :)

laura callaghan : which episode of as if was most fun to film?

Paul Chequer : The first one I think, because there were no expectations from people, it was just good fun.

i_love_paul : are you similar in any way to jamies character

Paul Chequer : I get all my bad bits out in Jamie! I'd like to think I'm nothing like him though because the guy is an idiot.

sweetie_em : how did u get the part for as if?

Paul Chequer : I've got an agent and she sent me up for an audition when we did the pilot, which was 15 minutes long. That was 2 years ago now. Then they called me back to do the main thing, which was great.

lynseyscotland : Whats been the toughest story line so far ?

Paul Chequer : Hmm...

Paul Chequer : All of it was hard. Tonight's was hard! It was in a really small, sweaty club filming with torches in our hands and it all got a bit much, it was very hot. Sorry, that's not a storyline is it!

Freya : did you go to stage school if so which one?

Paul Chequer : No I didn't, I went to an ordinary school, then onto the Guildhall School of Music and Drama which was great.

Tiger Lily : have you got anything else lined up after 'As If'?

Paul Chequer : Well I've been working since we finished filming this series. I've been doing a play in London called Six Characters in Search of an Author, and a BBC sitcom called Other Animals which is out in June.
Paul Chequer growls

Devilish Rachel : when did u realise u wanted 2 be an actor? and how did u go about trying to achieve your ambition?

Paul Chequer : Towards the end of school really, school plays and the like and I went to the National Youth Theatre in the summertime. I auditioned for Drama School after that.

Mercy : Will we ever get to see you nude? :-)

Paul Chequer : Not if I have my way! I wouldn't wish that on anyone!

Jonny : Paul, you once said you want to be in the R.A.F is this still true?

Paul Chequer : RAF? Oh you mean the character? Because I certainly haven't!

Paul Chequer : Happy music with tunes and guitar: Badly Drawn Boy, David Gray - nothing exciting, sorry.

Bryony : Do you have any piercings???

Paul Chequer : No but I one considered the perineum. What do you think?

Ren : Are you good friends in real life with the others from As If?

Paul Chequer : Yes, we're all good buddies and we get on just fine.

Jesteress : Is acting 'it' for you or are there other things in life that you would like to try your hand at?

Paul Chequer : No, not just yet, I enjoy acting a lot. Maybe one day, something else.

Genevieve : who would you rather be...austin powers or james bond?

Paul Chequer : James Bond, but that's wishful thinking I think. Austin Powers is more accurate.

kelly : what has been the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Paul Chequer : I can sing to myself but not very well in public, so no plans at all to become a popstar, thank you very much! I don't think anyone's been able to top Jason Donovan really, you can't follow that!

Gaz : Who would you most like to act with?

Paul Chequer : Jean Claude Van Damme. I'd like to give him a good slapping.

Veronica! : Who is your idol?

Paul Chequer : I honestly don't have one, sorry. What's an idol?!

Fiona : If you had to live on a desert island and could only take one thing with you, what would you take and who woukd you most like to be stranded with?

Paul Chequer : I'd take a banana tree and David Seaman.

rache : what jobs did you have before you started acting?

Paul Chequer : Loads! Cooking in dodgy restaurants. I worked at an agency where they made you do all sorts of crap. At one point I was on Fruit Watch and had to watch raisins going past on a conveyor belt for about 8 hours to make sure there were no stalks sticking out.

Craig : Do you wear the same kinda clothes that Jamie wears in the show?
Jamie answer : Jamie where did u get your groovy hat!?

Paul Chequer : I bought lots of Jamie's clothes after the first series, so I do look quite like him. The groovy hat is from some groovy shop somewhere. It's cool isn't it! It's coming back. The hat is back.

chloe_2001 : are you a computer buff like jamie?!

Paul Chequer : No I don't have the first idea about them, except on a Nintendo 64!

Paul Chequer : I guess he's sweet in his own way but he does have daft ideas about doing things and goes about things in a strange way. I wouldn't like to be him, let's just put it that way.

melodee21 : What is your average weekend like??

Paul Chequer : I haven't had a weekend all year as I've been working. But when I do, I do a bit of food shopping, see some friends and hang loose for a while. I just chill with me woman.
