Recommendation for you - this Wenesday (27th), there's a documentary treat in the unassuming surroundings of the Odeon Swiss Cottage. Called "Stealing Klimt", it follows a Holocaust survivor¿s struggle against the Austrian government to recover her family¿s stolen art, including some of the most famous works by Gustav Klimt.

One woman's fight against da system, Maria Altmann¿s story is testament to the fact that amongst much more, the Holocaust was the greatest mass theft of art in history. This dramatic film recounts the decades long struggle by Altmann, born and raised in Austria, to recover five Gustav Klimt paintings stolen from her family by the Nazis in 1938, and kept by the Austrian government in their National Gallery since 1945. 

It's presented by the UK Jewish film festival and the screening will be followed by a discussion including the film¿s writer, Martin Smith; historian Professor David Cesarani; Jewish German refugee specialist Dr Anthony Grenville ; and most intriguingly, Deputy Austrian Ambassador Mrs Elisabeth Koegler, who will be "participating in a personal, non-official capacity" - should be interesting....
