Mike Lee to make a film from Nokia phone footage

Nokia has hired Spike Lee to make a three to five minutes film loosely based on the concept of humanity. Instead of storyboarding it himself, he's got to recycle footage that teenagers have shot on their mobile phones and sent through to www.nokiaproductions.com. This is film meets mobile phone meets social networking, as we're moving into an age where people will be making films, not just photos, on their phones, and publishing them straight to the web without touching a computer. Nokia are leading the pack when it comes to this kind of mobile-bloging. My friend Pam works on another project for them called the Royal Artist Club. Bands film behind the scenes stuff on their phone, and post it live for fans whilst they're on tour. When your creating footage with a device you're carrying anyway, you can much more immediate reactions with this guerrilla approach.
