Belated update on the new non-fiction award in documentary town - this one, the Indiepix NonFiction Film Awards, now named the Cinema Eyes Awards, after the radical filmmaking gang (and accompanying concept) led by Dziga Vertov (as you can see, these ain't your BAFTAs, these are pretty cool awards)

The shortlist is now announced, and rightly includes some of the very best doc films from the last year, and thankfully not just the obvious choices. I'm particularly glad that the shocking and crucial Taxi to the Dark Side is on the list.
