I is for India

Following on from yesterdays' blog about We Are Together, here is another long term documentary success story. I is for India is started life when Sandhya Suri, a documentary graduate of NFTS, decided she must make a film using her dad's old achieve audio tapes and super 8 reels. He'd emigrated to England as a doctor in the 60's, from India, and settling in was a long process, captured in the recordings made over 40 years. Sanhya set about the momentous task of editing it all together into a touching and insightful narrative. She then entered it to all the usual big festivals, and it got rejected from Sheffield, Edinburgh and London, it finally got selected for the biggest of the lot, Sundance! Then lots of broadcasters wan
ted to screen it, including on More4, tonight at 10pm.

I haven't seen the film yet, so here is another review
