Get Your Short Shown at BritDoc

Becca Frankel   13 May 2008, 7:52 PM

Why don't you submit your documentaries to the FourDocs Short Film Competition at BRITDOC 08?  Films must be received by Tuesday 20th May.  That's the day after our 3MW deadline, so you can do them both at the same time!  Your film needn't have been uploaded to FourDocs, but the director must be either a British citizen living in the UK or abroad or a filmmaker from anywhere in the world who is resident in the UK.  Film submissions can be anything up to 30 minutes in length, should have been completed in the last 12 months and must not have previously had a public screening or broadcast in the UK.

If your short is selected to screen at BRITDOC 08, you will be awarded a free day pass to come and be inspired by the best in documentary filmmaking that the world has to offer AND have the chance to meet many of the key international funders, distributors, and commissioning editors.  You can sign up at the BRITDOC website to apply.

It's good to know...

... we've teamed up with The Co-operative for this competition. We have a team of experts ready to watch the films, and they will choose which one will win a cash prize of £2,000, which ones get shown to a Channel4 Commissioning Editor, and which ones have the chance to be shown on Channel 4 itself on their 3 Minute Wonder strand.
