    Craig Thomas   22 November 2007, 2:01 PM

    Colin Overland   21 September 2007, 10:16 AM

Your life just got better, although you may not know it yet. Why? Because the loos at Toddington services have been fitted with Dyson Airblade hand driers. Everyone dries their hands, and everyone goes to Toddington services sooner or later.

  • Horns of a dilemma

    Colin Overland   10 September 2007, 10:47 AM

There are two good uses for your car's horn. One, the gentle prod, is to encourage the person in front of you to notice that the lights have turned to green. The other good use, the louder one, is a way of saying 'please don't kill me'.

  • Fix 'em when they break

    Farah AlKhalisi   23 July 2007, 10:34 AM

Once, I got it right. Just as I was considering whether to treat my Citroen Xantia (£400, a year's reliable motoring) to a bit of a service at MoT time, the clutch packed up.

  • Leaving cars unlocked

    Colin Overland   19 July 2007, 10:23 AM

Eek. You don't see THAT much these days. A bloke got out of his last-generation 3-Series coupe outside a newsagent's as I was walking past. He left the engine running and the car unlocked.

  • Avoid the Glasto mud - take a van

    Farah AlKhalisi   27 June 2007, 4:53 PM

Mud, mud, not so glorious mud: while my 4Car colleague braved the weather at Goodwood, I took the rock'n'roll option and went to Glastonbury instead.

  • Night-time is the right time?

    Craig Thomas   14 June 2007, 10:16 AM

I love that new VW Golf advert.

  • Hey good looking. Oh, you're a traffic warden

    Farah AlKhalisi   8 June 2007, 11:56 AM

We all hate traffic wardens, don't we? Snooping around in their silly peaked caps, desperate to meet their targets and slap a ticket on anyone at the slightest excuse, turning a quick stop at the cashpoint or nip into a newsagents into a very expensive expedition...

  • What's the point in tailgating?

    Tom Bird   7 June 2007, 12:37 PM

Picture the scene, you're in the outside lane of the motorway happily overtaking the slower traffic trundling along in the nearside two lanes with a couple of cars in front of you doing the same. You're leaving a nice safe gap between yourself and the car in front, waiting patiently for it to complete its overtake and move across to the middle lane.
