As if there hasn't been enough drama in the Big Brother House this week, Kris and Charlie decided to stir up a little fake drama of their own this morning. Ooh, the japes.
The plan was simple: for Charlie to pretend to cry and see if he could fool anyone.
"You can do it Charl," Kris said encouragingly, watching Charlie try and conjure up some tears. "Do a little breakdown and just see what Sophie's face is like."
The pair then went for a wander round the Kitchen, where Dogface was talking to Noirin and Marcus. Charlie did his very best upset face, and Kris even rubbed him on the back while murmuring "You'll be fine," but the other housemates didn't notice a thing.
"They're not even paying attention," said Charlie, cracking up.
With Plan A failing miserably, the boys moved on to Plan B: Rodrigo. And this time it came off a treat. Within minutes Charlie was pretend sobbing, face down on his bed, while Rodrigo anxiously sat beside him whispering words of comfort. The kind-hearted housemate then gave Charlie a big hug, before Charlie burst out laughing in his face.
Having watched the whole thing from afar, Kris came bounding over. "Aw bless him though!" he said to a perplexed Rodrigo.
"It was lovely," gushed Charlie, laughing his head off.
"I started it, going 'Aw just have a word with him, he's really upset'," explained Kris excitedly. "And then Sree goes 'It's about his mother'!" The boys fell about laughing.
"I was like, you can't say that Sree!" hooted Kris. "Half of me was laughing, and half of me was going 'Oh Rodrigo, bless him'!"
"I walked in and you were going 'Oh I just can't do this any more'!" he told Charlie.
"I was convincing meself!" chuckled Charlie. "I felt really upset meself!"
"I said, 'Think how much we've been through together'..." remembered Rodrigo ruefully.
There was a flurry of backslapping and hugs.
"Thank you Rodrigo," said Charlie.
"Rodrigo, that was lovely mate," said Kris affectionately. "That's a good mate to have."
Ah, there's nothing like taking advantage of someone's kindness for comic effect. Heartwarming stuff.
