Chrysler, under new ownership and management, and under pressure to cut its costs drastically, is planning to axe the slow-sellers in its line-up. One possibly car for the chop is the PT Cruiser.

Advertising has taken over the modern world. We wear labels all over our clothes; you can't drive down a street without seeing an estate agent's board; and you're going to have to skip another one now to read about what I think is an ad too far.

It's been a bit of a lean time for us car fans at the movies of late. Apart from some great chase sequences in the Bourne films, there's been little to get the petrol in our veins racing while we sit in the dark popping popcorn and slurping on a bucket of Coke.

There are two good uses for your car's horn. One, the gentle prod, is to encourage the person in front of you to notice that the lights have turned to green. The other good use, the louder one, is a way of saying 'please don't kill me'.
