2018...Best year for comedy yet?

16 February 2018

We've had an excellent start to the year when it comes to Comedy on 4. Following the phenomenal success of Derry Girls, the series has been commissioned for a second series featuring more genius wit and 90s nostalgia… and we might all find out what happened after THAT ending. If you happen to be one of the few who missed out on the show, join the conversation and check it out on All 4 now – so bingeworthy!

Speaking of new comedies, we are very excited for the start of Young Sheldon on E4. This brand new series follows the young life of one Sheldon Cooper (from Big Bang fame) and his struggles growing up as the smartest kid in East Texas. Straight after, we’ll be catching up with adult Sheldon in the return of Series 11 of The Big Bang Theory, we're sure you'll agree, Thursday is going to be one big 'Big Bang' appreciation. Check out the double bill from 8pm every Thursday on E4 starting 22nd February.

Another successful comedy of recent years was 2017's Damned. The fearless comedy, set in Elm Health Social Services, is back on Wednesdays at 10pm on Channel 4 with its stellar cast including Jo Brand, Alan Davies, Kevin Eldon, Georgie Glen, Himesh Patel and Isy Suttie. The second series promises to be full of as much comic wit as the first! If you haven't tuned in to this show yet, you can catch the first series on All4 and new episodes every Wednesday.

And, as if that wasn’t enough, The Goldbergs is enjoying another successful run on E4 on Wednesdays from 8pm and we’ve some our fav US comedies coming back this year too. Keep an eye on the 4Viewers twitter feed for info on the return of Brooklyn 99, Young and Hungry, New Girl and Black-ish– or why not follow us to make sure you’re amongst the first to know.

We're sure you'll agree these shows will only add to the already amazing range of comedy boxsets available free on All4. From classics like Father Ted, Peep Show, The Inbetweeners and The IT Crowd, to the critically acclaimed Friday Night Dinner, Catastrophe and Chewing Gum, not to mention the popular panel show 8 Out of 10 Cats. There are giggles aplenty for absolutely everyone, so why not take a look for yourself and find a comedy that tickles your funny bone?

With all this incoming comedy, our bets are on 2018 being the best year yet for Comedy on 4!
