About Michael Hodgson
Michael joined Channel 4 from the venture capital group 3i plc. At 3i Michael was responsible for the media sector covering a range of investments in the television, music and publishing sectors.
Prior to 3i Michael was the managing director of Commodities Daily a Hong Kong based subscription newsletter service that he founded.
Michael has a degree from St Andrews in economics and is a qualified chartered accountant.
About Corporate Development
The role of Corporate Development is to support the delivery of Channel 4 Corporation's strategic growth ambitions by working with Channel 4 and 4 Ventures to appraise and invest in new business opportunities.
Corporate Development has 3 areas of focus:
| Raising Channel 4 Corporation's Investment Ambitions
Corporate Development will develop relationships with a range of external partners to increase Channel 4's access to attractive investment opportunities. Corporate Development will market Channel 4 Corporation's investment ambitions directly to financial institutions and media organisations and will raise Channel 4's investment profile through PR, events and conferences |
| Investment in New Opportunities
Corporate Development will manage a fund designated for investment in new business opportunities taking responsibility for the appraisal, valuation, structuring and integration of any potential investment. |
| Support for Existing Businesses
Corporate Development will support the growth of Channel 4 and 4 Ventures by providing advice and support in financial analysis and structuring of commercial opportunities across existing business activities. |
