Channel 4 Commercial Affairs are looking for a Production Finance Manager, who will be primarily responsible for delivering a comprehensive finance service to a number of programme and new media departments commissioning non-scripted content.
Essential requirements include a detailed knowledge of TV production across a wide variety of genres, a comprehensive knowledge of the current regulatory environment and terms of trade issues, awareness of new media developments and allied commercial affairs issues and astute analytical and financial skills.
Also desirable are in-house programme finance experience at a media organisation, a detailed knowledge of radio and new media production, and management experience in similar media environment.

YCTV is a west London-based that works with disadvantaged young people and the media. We are about to run a documentary-based project - looking at issues such as knife crime and identity - and are looking for temporary staff members to run it - from 7th January until the end of March 2008.
Studio Trainer
You will be responsible for delivering practical and theoretical studio training to young people aged 15 - 20. You will need to be familiar with studio/gallery set up and applications, particularly around live recordings. You will need to be able to mentor and enthuse project participants in all aspects of the studio. You will have experience working with young people, ideally as a trainer. Technical knowledge and expertise will be a distinct advantage but is not critical.
Editor
You will be able to train young people in post production process and technique. You will be industry savvy, but more importantly will be able to engage with our clientele. You will have knowledge of the following software: Final Cut Pro; DVD studio pro; live Type Soundtrack. A working knowledge of the following will also be an advantage: Dv, mini Dv, DVD, and web formats; Primera Disk publisher II.
Camera and Sound Trainer
You will have experience training young people in core technical skills, using PD150 cameras or equivalent. You will need enthusiasm and motivation as well as skill. Background in factual documentary will be an advantage.
All posts will be temporary. Pay £120 per day. All staff will have to be CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checked as you will be working with young people.

For only £30 for individual writers, Laura Pearson will read your script (TV/Film/Theatre/Radio), and provide a full written analysis report (4-8 Pages) focusing on areas such as characterisation, dialogue, story, structure, layout etc; and will highlight weaknesses in the script so that these can be amended by the writer before submitting to production companies.
Laura Pearson has worked in television and film for nearly four years. Her career areas are production, script development, and acting. She has worked in production as part of the crew on films such as The Da Vinci Code and Harry Potter. She has experience reading scripts for companies and for individual writers.
She also has script editing experience for the feature film script Love In Pieces and has script writing experience. She has done much script and story training, including the TAPS Script Editing Course; and workshops with people such as John Yorke.
