House Rules

AWAY YOU GO!

Everyone's excited we know, and we all want to run free in the 4Laughs playground, but first we'd best set a few ground rules before some people get a little too rambunctious and have to spend the rest of the afternoon in the naughty corner.

First off, by contributing to 4Laughs, whether that's submitting or rating content, you explicitly accept our Terms & Conditions, and our House Rules. Yes you do, don't argue at the back... The terms are there so you know what you're getting, and we know what we've promised to deliver; they may change occasionally so make sure you check them every now and then.

So, what are these mysterious House Rules? Funny you should ask...

PLAY NICELY

As a member of the 4Laughs community, we expect you to play nicely with the other members. This means:

  • Respect everybody else on the site. Follow this one and it makes all the others rules pretty redundant. Treat everybody as you'd want to be treated and we'll all get along fine...
  • That goes double for our moderators and crack forum team. They're here because they love comedy, and they want to help YOU become better comedians. Don't abuse them because without them, we wouldn't have a site.
  • Have patience with other's efforts. Comedy is incredibly subjective, so you may not find other people's sense of humour funny. You may not even like their opinions, but it's a big world out there, and there's room for everyone.
  • No flaming, harassing, abusing or threatening each other. It doesn't make for a happy place and you will be kicked off the site if you repeatedly do it. Don't take the law into your own hands! If you've got an issue with a piece of content or another user, let us know and we'll deal with it.
  • Don't flood the site with the same entry. It's not big, it's not clever and it just means you'll prevent other people showcasing their comedy talents.
  • Don't infringe other's copyrights! Not only is it illegal, when they find out they'll probably track you down and attempt to beat you with a large stick. To find out more, check out our Legal Guides.
  • Do not give out your contact details. Honestly, do we really need to tell you this?
  • Remember, a Gentlemen stands for ladies, twirls his moustache whilst contemplating taking a turn around the room, and always travels by balloon!
