ENABLING JAVASCRIPT WITHIN YOUR BROWSER

Javascript is a simple programme which lets you upload your videos, audio clips and images to the 4Laughs site.

Usually when you arrive on a competition page, and you are logged in, you will be prompted to run the Javascript programme before you can upload your entries.

However sometimes your browser settings will have Javascript disabled, which means either you can't see the upload tool, or it hangs at 100% and the page doesn't refresh.

There are a couple of ways you can tell if your browser has Javascript disabled:

1. The Homepage
The homepage should have a large image at the top. If the image is missing, then Javascript may not be enabled:

2. Competition Countdown
All competitions have a countdown clock indicating how long is left to enter. If it's missing, Javascript may not be enabled:

3. The Upload Mechanism
In some instances the upload mechanism will function allowing you to upload a piece of video, an audio clip or an image, but it will hang at 100% and the page won't refresh.

2. Enabling Javascript
To enable javascript in your browser, you need to change the settings.

First click on the 'Tool's menu at the top of the browser window, and select Internet Options...:

This will bring up a pop-up window with a number of different tabs. We are only interested in two, Security and Advanced.

You can check whether Java has been enabled correctly by checking whether the image on the homepage has loaded, or whether you can see the competition countdown clock:
