"Type two words into a well know search engine (the clue is in the title) and come out with only one hit! Sounds easy. And it is! That is an easy way for Dave Gorman to line his pockets with the proceeds of his worldwide tour and accompanying book.
"The story of Gorman's trip around the world in search of 10 "googlewhacks" (so are these 'one hit wonders' named) is entertaining, clever and engaging but not exciting. Whilst his cyberjourney does contain its fair share of amusing anecdotes Gorman delivers them all in the form of an aggressive, occasionally scary, angry rant. The low-point being when he almost assaults an audience member to for doubting the show's authenticity. Gorman seems increasingly insecure that his audience not see his show as a business venture but rather as some spiritual adventure.
"The story begins when Dave Gorman is bet by his friend (also called Dave Gorman!) that he cannot find 10 Googlewhacks before he turns 32. And so, the race is on. After numerous false starts Gorman finds himself in Sydney on the eve before his 32nd birthday wondering whether or not he will complete his chain. Whether he does or he doesn't, Gorman begs his reviewers not disclose, so I wont! What I will say however, is, Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure, is exactly that, Dave Gorman's adventure, and not his audience's. Try as he might Gorman is unable to generate enough interest in a story that is essentially about very lucky man having fun. "Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure" is therefore only recommended for a very rainy day when the internet isn't working!"
