4Laughs-a-Day is the feature that gives you 4 helpings a day of brand new comedy. Your portion includes rib-tickling audio and video clips made by our users and swept up from the nether regions of the web, plus comedy news, interviews, exclusive previews and a healthy dose of competitions.
Ow! Jason Bradbury from The Gadget Show on Channel 5, steams through the streets of London doing the (painful looking) Caterpillar break-dancing move. His post on YouTube is an attempt at viral marketing, but we just thought it was fantastically funny!
The end of the Hull Festival is nigh. To finish off the next couple of days, you'll be spoilt rotten with the finest of comedy! Today there's an interview on Viking Radio with award winning comic, Ivan Brackenberry and this evening, Andy Train will perform his show, 'Relaxed to the Point of Incontinence.' To close the festival on Friday, there is a fundraising event in aid of Young Enterprise and a fab performance of 80's Luke's show, 'Tour De Farce.'
Making sure our comedy highways are safe, With a Twist With a Twist reviews The Armstrong & Miller Show, Friday nights on BBC1.
"Some of you may not quite remember way back in time, well some seven years ago to be exact, when Channel 4 aired its very popular if not totally bizarre late night comedy show - The Armstrong & Miller show. The duo I am happy to say have at last and after such a long break, launched their new comedy show. The only difference being they have moved from Channel 4 where they first established themselves to the BBC.
"They have gathered about them an excellent group of writers from some of the funniest shows on television today. Their team includes Andy Hamilton (Outnumbered, Drop The Dead Donkey), Justin Sbresni and Mark Bussell (The Worst Week Of My Life), David Scott, Ali Crockett, Nico Tatarowicz (Swinging), Simon Blackwell (The Thick Of It), Anil Gupta (Goodness Gracious Me) to name but a few. The format is still the same but the material has a more mainstream feel to it than their previous outing.
"We see the pair in a variety of guises in quick fire comedy sketches, which are fast paced and are very well written indeed. The divorced dad who's attempt at bonding with his son is to blame the whole divorce on the child at every turn is a particularly funny sketch indeed if a little on the cruel side. Gullible Roger returns home from work to find his wife and his best friend Pete in full bondage gear - a surprise Easter party for him, they claim.
"The dentist sketch in episode one made me particularly laugh especially when the dentist is probing the patient's mouth with his gloved fingers whilst explaining how he had to put his fingers up his dogs bum in order to squeeze its anal gland. Something I hope never to encounter myself. We also have the football manager Tony and his far too friendly Russian boss 'Dimitri' (very reminiscent of a London football club) who tells Tony "They will make fire together."
"There is so much to enjoy in this weekly show, it's a must for those who have felt let down by some of the other supposedly funny TV shows on a Friday night that have come and gone with a whimper. Stay tuned to this one as it looks like a winner has hit the small screen for those who enjoy a good laugh."
