Furniture & Product Design

Showcase South America
This is the first UK launch of new and established furniture design talent from South America.

Carlos Motta, highly regarded Brazilian architect and furniture designer, will be on hand to showcase his sustainable and salvaged collection of chairs. Gabriela Bellon, also from architecture and furniture disciplines but of Argentinian nationality, is bringing her hotly anticipated minimalist collection of domestic furniture, whilst young designer Paulo Castellotti will be showing off some of his latest furniture, lighting and graphic creations.

Ceramics in the City
Ceramics in the City 2007 is now in its sixth year, and will be showcasing the work of 45 ceramicists in the Geffrye Museum's highly acclaimed extension.

Work will include everything from functional domestic pieces to the purely aesthetic. Exhibitors range from established designers to the hottest young talent.

The three day show includes not only the chance to buy, but also to see ceramicists at work in one of the free demonstrations. On Saturday and Sunday there will even be special activities to entertain the kids and get them thinking creatively.

Limited Edition Series of 'Sculpt'
Dutch design prodigy Maarten Baas has been causing a stir on the contemporary design scene. Find out why by taking a trip down to the Carpenter's Workshop Gallery!

Following the success of his internationally renowned 'Smoke & Clay' series, Baas now brings us 'Sculpt.' This new collection is based around gracefully oversized chairs, cupboards, tables and chests. Each piece starts life as a hand-carved miniature model, which naturally contradicts their wood-veneered metal construction. This new series is at once playful and expressive, capturing a poignant moment in design when furniture has cleverly moved beyond pure functionality and can provide us with an element of humour and reflection within the everyday.
