Eco Washing Machine. Save & Make Money At Home

13. Invest In Eco Buys

Swapping to eco-gadgets rather than buying those that suck up electricity like it’s going out of fashion will knock £££s off your bills. So, if you’re out shopping this weekend, ask about wind-up, solar-powered or at least rechargeable alternatives before you buy.

14. Go For Green Appliances

If you’re looking for bigger buys, such as a washing machine or fridge freezer, check their energy efficiency ratings before you part with your hard earned cash. Eco-friendly appliances needn’t be wacky alternatives - anything with an ‘A’ rating is designed to cut down on energy consumption. Before you start, check out our shopping guides for the latest and best bargains.

15. Switch Suppliers

Now you’ve got a bit of time, why not go through some of your bills to see just how much money you could save by switching suppliers? It’s not difficult to do so, and you could save yourself lots of cash over the course of a year.

16. Sell Without An Estate Agent

Confident you could sell your home without an estate agent? It’s not the easiest way to clinch a sale, but if you need the extra money, going for a private sale over one where you have to pay commission, could reap you thousands back.

17. Haggle Haggle Haggle

Drop your British reserve and learn how to get a discount just about anywhere – you can save thousands every year by asking for money off anything from holidays to carpets. Don’t know how? Click here for starters…

  1. I have bought a one bed Victorian flat with single glazed sash windows.I would like to double glaze them to retain heat and reduce noise. Would it be possible to do, would it be expensive and how would I find a glazier that could supply and fit the windows?
