

Another building society, Nationwide, publishes monthly and quarterly reports. Its latest quarter two report, covering April to June 2008, reveals all but one region in the UK saw house prices fall.
Another good source of national and regional data is the aggregator Housepricecrash.co.uk. Much like the comparison websites it accumulates reports from many sources – the Land Registry, Communities and Local Government, building societies, estate agents, and others.
Of course, what all this historic data, based on asking prices, mortgage loans and actual house price sales prices, doesn’t do is predict how far how house prices might yet fall in 2008, or forecast what they might do later in the year and into 2009.
