Hoping for a quick sale, Sandra put the house on the market and spent the rest of her savings on a new more suitable home for the family in a nearby town. But a year down the line it still hasn’t sold and, unable to afford the two properties, she’s in financial crisis.
Next Andrew meets John and Pam McNichol who saw Northern Cyprus as the answer to their dreams. Never imagining they would ever be able to afford a place in the sun, they were excited to discover they could afford to buy an off plan 3 bedroom apartment in the town of Kyrenia for £55K. They paid down payment of 39 grand and waited for it to be built. Two years later it’s still not finished and Andrew helps them weigh up their options.
Then Andrew advises Beryl Roberts and Andrew Phillips Godfrey who bought a cheap property in France for 24 grand – and despite spending nearly twice as much on renovation – 6 years later it’s still uninhabitable and all visits mean staying in a caravan in the garden. Andrew comes up with a solution to their problems that’ll mean they can finally move into to their house.
