Four years of rental luxury in Birmingham has meant splashing out almost 30 grand in rent and this has got to stop. So they've decided to bite the bullet and buy, but Birmingham is way out of their league, so they've turned their attention to Northampton, where they both have ties. They've got the right idea, but is it all too late?
They're still heavily in debt with student loans and haven't got a deposit, so they've opted for a 100% mortgage of £120,000. But these two lads have become very spoiled… and seriously deluded. That snazzy pad they're renting has all mod cons and they reckon they can afford the same. Cue Kirstie and Phil for a bit of a reality check.
Never ones to dodge a challenge, our gurus have to rein in these dreamers and set them on the right property path: in this slowing and uncertain market these two need to buy somewhere with a bit of potential; but try telling them that! Transforming them into astute buyers with an eye for investment would test the patience of a saint… let alone Kirstie and Phil. Luckily our happy-go-lucky house hunters eventually smell the coffee, waking up to some solid property advice.
