Properties One, Two & Three

The couple ran a thriving fish and chip shop in Scarborough but are sick of living above the business in a tiny flat with son Freddy. So they've abandoned the kiss-me-quick life and are quitting the seaside, desperate to put down roots in rural Lincolnshire. Not only are they now homeless and without a family business, but there's another baby on the way.

So the clock is really ticking. Kirstie makes it her mission to meet the needs of the family while Phil hunts for a lucrative business on the side. But this search is far from plain sailing. In Lincolnshire, for every 500 houses for sale, there is only one business, so finding that perfect 'two in one' really is the proverbial needle in a haystack.

With a modest budget of £275k, the inimitable duo scour the Lincolnshire countryside and uncover some absolute gems. But can they find a winning combination to keep the peace between Darren and Julie?

Billingborough

First up is some familiar territory for the family, a fish a chip shop in the quiet village of Billingborough. The house has spacious ground floor living space and a good sized garden, just what Julie is looking for.

Living room Pros
Spacious, ground floor living space, garden.
Road Cons
Alley way next door.

Darren and Julie are very happy with the location, and it is clear that they are looking to become part of a small community. The accommodation is also ideal, with enough space for their growing family. The only reservation the couple have is the alley way next to the house.

Morton

For their next offering Kirstie and Phil have found a small post office and shop with attached bungalow accomodation. Will the Spry's take to the change in business?

Pros
Large living area, kitchen and secluded garden.
Cons
Darren unsure about the business.

Once again the accomodation suits the family's needs. However Darren finds it hard to come round to the idea of running a post office. Will Kirstie and Phil manage to find the perfect balance?

Folkingham

Folkingham is one of the most sought after villages in Lincolnshire. Listed Georgian family house is not just accommodation attached to a family business but it’s a home in its own right crammed with charm. It would provide the secure nest Julie’s desperate for.

Pros Plenty of character, scope for development.
Cons Well over budget.

Julie and Darren fall in love with the property and the potential of the small tea house. However , once Kirstie tells them the asking price, this is quickly forgotten.
