Episode 1: Glasgow
Location, Location, Location is back and bigger than ever with a new hour long format. This week Kirstie and Phil will be searching out properties in Glasgow, but with a booming housing market to contend with it's going to be a tough task to match our househunters' aspirations with their budgets.
Our first couple only moved to Glasgow from Wimslow in Cheshire seven weeks ago. Career driven Emma has landed a new job as Operations Director for a chain of the city’s most stylish bars, and husband Jon is staying home to raise their daughter Lily.
The only problem is they’ve not got a clue about their new city! Luckily they’ve got the best tour guides in town and they’re going to need them as their £350,000 budget is going to be stretched to the limit to accommodate a 4-bedroom family house, a spacious garden and a good local school.
Adam and Alexandra
Our second set of house hunters are Project Manager Adam McKeown and his stylist girlfriend Alexandra. They’ve got £135,000 and are looking out for a spacious property in the south of the city. Though Adam will be buying, Alexandra will be helping out with mortgage payments and living there part of the time, meaning that Adam will be looking for a lodger to help him with the finances.
But Phil and Kirstie are going to need pretty strong ropes to pull these two back down to earth. Adam’s already viewed over 500 properties and had 16 offers turned down. Oh well, here goes…
