Local girl, Doll Jago, has lived in Kingsand her whole life. She showed Jon around. In the street where she grew up, only two houses and the pub are now lived in. The rest have shutters: they are second homes, belonging to people from outside the village and visited only for holidays. "It's a dead village," Doll tells Jon.
