1. George Clarke revisits Jo and Grant in Worcester Park (Image 1 of 23)
Last year, Jo and Grant were overjoyed with the increased space in their home. Now they’ve been living in it for six months, George has come back to see if it lived up to expectations.
He finds the house looking fantastic, with the rooms as bright as fresh as when he left. It’s clear Jo and Grant have taken pride in maintaining their new home - and they tell George it's working really well. The only problem Jo can find to tell George about is the blackboard - they've used it so much, the paint is starting to come off.
Blackboard troubles aside, there’s a problem George is really not happy about. The roof in the extension has leaked, which shouldn’t be happening and will have to be put right.
Also, the extension is still not signed off by building control. They say that the insulation of the roof doesn’t meet the building regulation requirements. These loose ends will have to be tied up.
Due to budget, the one room George couldn’t tackle during his first visit was Jo and Grant’s master bedroom. It's still not done, but George has plenty of advice to offer about making the most of the space and using colour in the room.
The house is working perfectly for the family. By connecting the garden to the extension, the girls have a safe haven in which to play.
Even though they’ve only spent a few months over Christmas and winter back in their new house, it’s already changed the way they live and interact as a family.
