Properly made double glazing would not only have minimised heat loss, but reduced the sound pollution by nearly 90% so this is something they really need to do. But it would have taken more than three months - so it's not possible as part of this project. Instead, George has set aside £10,000 for Annie and Don to change the windows at a later date.
This means the budget has shrunk to £50,000 and in a house this size that makes things very tight.
