19. Steel foundations are essential but will cost more (Image 19 of 40)

The solution? Build what is called a ring beam, a steel foundation that juts out from the existing house and rests on the retaining wall of the patio.

A traditional foundation would have only cost around £500 and these two steels alone set the team back a further £4,000 - but it’s the only way to build the extension.

I must congratulate you the house has been transformed, it is a clean very cool look I just love the colours they are fablous. We wish we could afford to have this done to our home. We love the program so keep it comeing. George looks great as well Monday 28th September

Having been looking forward to the return of The Home Show I was very disappointed to see the second show was a revisited episode. Why does Channel4 insist on this type of programme ? -- Grand designs , location location location , property ladder etc etc. Cheap programmes which are no more than repeats !!

Hideous transformation - cannot believe these people find this atrractive . Looks cheap and nasty and will date within 12 months, More like a dentists waiting room than a home !
