2. I know that this question has already been asked, but I see no response.... Why were the family charge VAT? With them having a disabled child they are entitled to a zero rating VAT on making alterations to suit a disabled person!!

From commissioning editor Andrew Jackson in response to comments about budgets on The Home Show: As stated in the programme the contributors budget is spent on the main structural changes of the build, plumbing and electrical work etc. George's architectural advice is free and collectively we use all our contacts to endeavour to get the best quality service and price on the build. The production supplements the contributor's budget to provide furniture and decoration. When we set out to make The Home Show it was never our intention to give a list of detailed costings like some other shows such as 'Property Ladder'. However, I think there is a thirst for more consumer advice and financial information when it comes to renovation - something we would hope to address in any further series of The Home Show. 12. 1. Why was there no VAT exemption for the disability related elements of the project. 2. If a builder gets it wrong, as in previous episodes, surely he, and not the client, is responsible for the cost of his own mistakes. 3. Ditto the architect!
