7. The extension takes shape (Image 7 of 11)

Now the building starts. First they dig the foundations for the extension and erect the new exterior wall. Next a steel beam is put in place to support the back of the house – and finally they measure up for the new staircase.

The build is progressing well but there's bad news too - the alterations are going to take longer and cost more than anyone envisaged. Carol and Keith initially handed over a cheque for £45,000 which they upped to £60,000, but to do what they want is now going to be a huge leap to £75,000. It's tough on everyone, but they agree that George can have another £12,000 – bringing the total to £72,000.

I'm here to find out the same...recently been watching the reruns. We have v similarly coloured kitchen units & worktop, plse could someone let me know the paint colour used on Keith & Carol's home in Chalfont's kitchen, on The Home Show? Many thx in anticipation...

We currently have a boiler system like the one you described (hot water goes off whilst in shower). We are interested to find out the boiler system which was installed on the Chalfont Project

Hi I really loved the kitchen you designed for the show, can you please send me on the dimensions of that room as we are in the process of building a house and would love to have a kitchen/diner that size. P.s. loving the show, we look forward to every thursday nite!!!
