13. George presents his plans (Image 13 of 23)
The budget is so tight that George has decided to leave the kitchen in the same position, where he can make use of the existing drainage. But Carolyn, who spends much of her day in the kitchen, is disappointed that it’s staying in the corner of the house.
So George comes up with an alternative solution. In the reworked plan he moves the kitchen away from the existing drainage and into the heart of the open plan living space. Here it will overlook the garden and benefit from the natural light created by the new windows where the garage door once was.
Moving the drainage is going to cost another £5,000, minimum. But Ash agrees that the changes need to be made in order for Carolyn to be happy.
