It’s also healthy for the bank balance, Sarah explains. "Prices for food are going up in Italy quite radically, so I would think twice about paying a lot of money for something I could grow for nothing in my own garden. I’m making my own chutneys and jams and that won’t stop in winter – it’ll just be different flavours of chutneys and jams. So if my whole crop fails there won’t be anything to sell."
