Sue and Neil wanted a fab new eco home in the beautiful county of Devon with a stream, 3.5 acres, outbuildings galore and space for a holiday business too. But this wasn't the end of it, they also wanted a flat in Brighton so they could be near their family, especially their beloved grandchildren.
It was a tough search for property to say the least, but the dynamic duo came up with some crackers in both areas, and the self styled 'chico warriors' managed to change their lives completely.
Over a year on, this revisit finds Phil and Kirstie back in Devon to see if Sue and Neil's new life has really worked and it seems like they've arrived on the sunniest day of the year. But has the green dream become a technicolour reality? Have the grandchildren come down to stay? And has the business come to life?
Neil and Sue took the plunge and bought a barn in need of serious restoration, but it was also a process of eco-improvement. Watch as Phil discusses how their renovation maintains a carbon footprint as small as the property is large.
