Which major projects would you advise people to take on currently - extensions, basement dig outs, loft conversions, or something else?
Sarah: I would only suggest taking on any of these things if you can afford it - but if you can then any of them can be a good idea. The cheapest extension tends to be a loft conversion, and more expensive is a basement conversion. Most people are limited by space so don't have much choice.

When you watch the property programmes you never find out how much is spent on furniture and soft furnishings and what happens to the furnishings when the house is sold - does anyone know ?
