David and Christine's hard work over the course of this project has secured them a very nice sum to take home. They've created a pleasant and much improved house, if not a particularly striking family home. Where they've fallen down is in trying to avoid controversy and play it safe, meaning that the contemporary look that really sells houses has only been carried through half-heartedly.

Some people might think Rebecca is mad for giving up a lucrative career as a dentist. Madder still, she enormously underestimated the cost of renovating a house on the scale that she had envisioned. That said, she was able to find a lot of extra money and only spent it on features that would be real selling points for the house, like a wonderful designer kitchen. She was right to tailor the house to her affluent target market, and her final valuation reflects this attention to fine detail. Well done Rebecca!

Poole, Dorset: House 2
Bought for: £495,000
Renovation budget: £202,000
Actual spend: £210,000
Valued at: £800,000

Rebecca's second development managed to stay much closer to its original budget, but she still came up with another light and spacious house. Her clever use of glass, coupled with an intelligent layout, made for another striking home.
