In 2009 the Sharples family decided to leave Britain and move to the sunnier climes of Australia, even taking their Grandma Joan with them! Searching for a house big enough for three generations was a tough task for Phil, but eventually he found their dream home just North of Sydney.
With the whole family living under one roof, are the Sharples family still living the dream in Australia? Phil returns to Sydney to find out and discovers that a lot of changes can be made to a house in just a year...
The challenge for Phil in this episode of Relocation: Phil Down Under was to help three generations of the same family find a home in the Northern Beaches area of Sydney. Jon and Jeannette aren't just married to each other, they're also married to the military. For almost a decade they've been shunted from one posting to the next with Jon's forces job, and now they've decided to take on their greatest move so far by heading down under.
Outside of the main house hunt, Phil does a spot of property searching for himself. He also has a stab at Aussie rules football, and visits the home of one of Australia's most controversial architects, Harry Seidler.
This isn't just a simple house search however. To complicate matters, Jon's mother Joan is joining the ranks in Oz and needs her own space in the new family home. So with this in mind, Phil had to present the family with four homes big enough to house them all comfortably and all within budget. No mean feat.
