With hundreds of thousands of pounds at stake, buying a house at auction is probably going to be the most expensive decision a buyer will ever make. And yet it's a decision which sometimes has to be made in a split second.

In House Auction, property expert presenters James Gibbons, Emma Basden and Eleanor Davies explored this burgeoning market sector, following a selection of eager potential buyers and stressed out sellers, watching everyday people take massive gambles and changing their lives in a moment.

No longer the preserve of professional developers, auctions have become more and more accessible to everyone. With such a mixed bag of properties available at property auctions, House Auction followed people who'd bought all sorts of bargains, and now faced the prospect of developing them to make a profit.

  1. I have read all about the do's and donot's of buying a house at auction, but can't find an auction that sells property in the West Sussex area. Can anybody help? Many thanks.
