Janet Ellis hosted Channel 4's Great Garden Challenge in 2005. She is an accomplished presenter and actress who shot to fame as the presenter of Blue Peter, where, for four years, she did everything from jumping out of planes to singing at Last Night of the Proms.

Janet trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama and subsequently played a wide variety of parts in both theatre and television, including The Sweeney, Dr Who, Playhouse and four series as the presenter of the BAFTA award-winning children’s programme Jigsaw.

On leaving Blue Peter, she presented Open Air for the BBC, and has since presented a huge range of programmes across the networks, both recorded and live, on topics as diverse as gardens, cars, holidays, cookery and childcare.

Janet recently completed Inspector Steine, a new comedy by Lynne Truss for BBC Radio 4. She appeared on BBC 1's popular primetime singing contest Just The Two Of Us and continues as a regular on Five’s The Wright Stuff.
