A Place In France followed journalist Nigel Farrell on a French adventure.
The first series saw Nigel, along with his old friend Nippi Singh, attempting to buy and renovate an old farmhouse in France. Ardeche, just north of Provence in south-east France, is a spectacular but remote area of the country, and it's here that the pair found a wreck to transform. Viewers watched as they bickered their way through red tape and language barriers in pursuit of creating their dream holiday home.
In the second series of A Place In France, Nippi returned to England, but Nigel decided to begin a new life, staying in the house they'd renovated. Together with restaurateur Reza Mohammed, Nigel started up his next unlikely business: the first Indian restaurant in the Ardeche. The series catalogued the highs and lows of what many people see as a dream lifestyle - the idea of going it alone and making a new life in a foreign country.
Still hoping to go native, and despite the collapse of his Indian restaurant business, Nigel attempted to open a French B&B. Nigel's Place in France followed Nigel as he went headlong into another business idea - one which meant Nippi having to sell him his share of the house they had bought together...
