Claudia Reays made the decision to buy two years ago and since then she’s done all she could to make it happen. But like so many first time buyers Claudia still couldn’t afford a property in London. She’s now found a government scheme that helps buyers in her situation and secured an interest free loan of £89,000.

Claudia may have her loan, but her mortgage offer runs out in two weeks and she doesn’t think she’ll get another at a rate she can afford. She says she wants to be in north London, but in her panic to buy, Claudia put an offer on a flat in Stockwell – South London – four months ago. It’s over budget, needs a shedload of work, and an issue with the boiler has led to months of wrangling with the seller . All these problems mean she’s now desperate to find a pad in her dream location: North London.

Claudia has £220,000 to spend. She looking for two bedrooms, and a building with some character.
