

A few years ago prices were booming and properties were flying off the shelves. It was a nightmare situation for any first time buyers trying to get a foot on the ladder, so Phil and I made it our mission to give them a helping hand.
The search wasn't easy in such a fast and furious market, but where there's a will there's a way. Now we're back to check up on the property virgins we helped secure their first homes.
Being armed with the necessary information is a real help, as making the right choice on your first property can set you up for the future, but getting the right house in the right area is key.

That was the problem facing our first timers as they struggled to get on the property ladder, and worried they may miss the boat altogether.
Alexia lived and worked in London, so it was no surprise she wanted to buy her first home here. But with prices in the capital rocketing she just couldn't see how. With prices increasing well above inflation and salary rises, thousands have been priced out of the market.

And London wasn't the only place where first timers had been hit especially hard. In Leeds, friends Richard and Jonathan were both trying to buy, but a legacy of student debt had taken its toll. Coming straight out of university, it's understandable that these two couldn't afford to go it alone. So, as best friends, they've decided to hunt for that first house together.
We had a couple of cracking ideas to help our first timers, so off went Phil to London and Kirstie to Leeds to help our hapless house hunters...
